HomeMy WebLinkAbout7585RESOLUTION NO. 7585 A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL REQUESTING THE PUEBLO BOARD OF WATER WORKS TO WAIVE THE WATER TAP AND METER FEE FROM CERTAIN VACANT LOTS DONATED BY THE CITY AND COUNTY TOWARD AFFORDABLE HOUSING WITHIN CERTAIN OLDER PUEBLO NEIGHBORHOODS UNDER THE VACANT LOT RECYCLE PROGRAM WHEREAS, the revitalization and stabilization of older neighborhoods is partly accomplished by encouraging new home development; and WHEREAS, generation of new tax bases are common goals under the City and County Vacant Lot Recycle Program; and WHEREAS, private home development is to be encouraged on these vacant lots and the properties returned to tax revenue producing status; and WHEREAS, the City has requested the Board of Water Works to review 31 vacant lots for the condition or need of water and meter service lines for potential new home construction under the Vacant Lot Recycle Program; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: The attached list of building lots are declared surplus to the needs of the City and are to be submitted to the Pueblo Board of Water Works by the City Council for consideration of waiver of all water and meter fees; thereby providing financial incentives to encourage private home construction and development on vacant lots where located within older Pueblo Neighborhoods.
