HomeMy WebLinkAbout7511RESOLUTION NO. 7511 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, ADOPTING THE CITY'S COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) DRAFT STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES FOR 1995 WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo, hereinafter called City, is designated as an entitlement city under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended through 1990; and WHEREAS, the Citizens' Advisory Committee on Community Development has received and reviewed applications for the use of 1995 CDBG funds. Said Committee has made its recommendations to the City Council on the projects to be approved; and WHEREAS, the City held a Public Hearing on November 14, 1994, and in addition, Quadrant Meetings at various locations within the City to obtain the views of citizens and various groups on the City's housing and community development needs for its 1995 Consolidated Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: Section 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the publication of the City's Community Development Block Grant Statement of Objectives and Activities for 1995. This publication will afford affected citizens an opportunity to examine the statement's contents and the City's proposed use of 1995 Community Development Block Grant funds, and to provide comments on the proposed statement. INTRODUCED November 28 1994 BY: FAY KASTELIC CITY COUNCIL MEMBER APPROVED: BY 9ES�QNT OF CITY COUNCIL I CIfY -CLERK December 1, 1994 THE CITY OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) DRAFT STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES FOR 1995 The City Council of Pueblo, Colorado, proposes the following objectives for use of CDBG funds in 1995 that will be included in the 1995 Consolidated Plan. CDBG funds are intended to provide decent housing, suitable living environment and economic opportunities, principally for low— and moderate — income persons through rehabilitation and preservations, economic,/job development and public facilities improvements. It is estimated that approximately $1,855,000 in CDBG funds will be received by the City of Pueblo in 1995, along with program income from Housing Loan paybacks of approximately $85,000. It is the intent of the City of Pueblo that approximately 70% of the program funds would benefit the needs of low— and moderate —income persons. Permanent involuntary displacement of neighborhood persons or businesses is not anticipated. Any low— and moderate — income housing which is demolished or converted will be replaced in compliance with the CDBG regulations. Final adoption of 1995 CDBG projects will be finalized by this date, including amendments as a result of actual funding to the estimated total of $1,855,000.
