HomeMy WebLinkAbout7285As Amended 12/27/93 RESOLUTION NO. 7285 A RESOLUTION FIXING THE NUMBER OF COMMIS- SIONERS OF THE URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY OF PUEBLO, COLORADO AT ELEVEN AND APPOINTING A MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal Authority of Pueblo, Colorado (the "Authority ") was created by Resolution No. 1133 adopted on March 9, 1959, and WHEREAS, the number of commissioners of the Authority was fixed at nine (9) by Resolution No. 1133, and WHEREAS, §31- 25- 104(2)(a), C.R.S. provides that an au- thority shall consist of any odd number of commissioners which shall not be less than five nor more than eleven and that not more than one of the commissioners may be an official of the municipality, and WHEREAS, it would best serve the interest of the City if the Authority consisted of eleven commissioners, one of whom would be a member of the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1 The number of commissioners of the Urban Renewal Au- thority of Pueblo, Colorado shall be and hereby is fixed at eleven. SECTION 2 The appointment of the following named person as commis- sioner to the Urban Renewal Authority of Pueblo, Colorado for the term set after his respective name heretofore made by the Presi- dent of the City Council is hereby approved and reaffirmed. This voluntary disclosure and notice of a potential conflicting interest are given pursuant to the provisions of §18 -8 -308 and §24 -18 -110, C.R.S. The Urban Renewal Authority of Pueblo, Colorado (the "Authority ") intends to issue revenue bonds for its amended phase one urban renewal project. I am employed by Smith, Barney, Shearson as an account executive. The underwriting division of Smith, Barney, Shearson is attempting to be designated as the underwriter for the revenue bonds of the Authority. I am an elected member of the City Council of Pueblo and appointed commissioner of the Authority and may exercise discretionary functions in connection with the engagement of the underwriter for the Authority's revenue bonds and may participate in the subsequent sale of such bonds in my capacity as an account executive with Smith, Barney, Shearson.
