VMMM, the City of Pueblo has been officially committed to the
principles of nondiscrimination and equal employment opportunity since
enactment of the City Charter in 1954; and
MMT.AS, the principles of nondiscrimination -and equal employment
opportunity are the subject of a numerous state and federal laws and
constitutional mandates, including provisions of the United States and Colorado
Constitutions, Article 34 of Title 24 of the Colorado Revised Statutes, and the
following federal acts: the Civil Rights Acts of 1866, 1870, 1871, 1964 and
1991, the Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act of 1940, the Equal Pay Act of
1963, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, the Equal Employment
Opportunity Act of 1972, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Vietnam Era
Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, the Age Discrimination Act of
1975, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987 and the Americans with
Disabilities Act of 1990;

SECI ON 1.
The City of Pueblo reaffirms its commitment to the principles of
nondiscrimination and equal opportunity in all City services and employment and
to all of the nondiscrimination and equal employment opportunity provisions of
the Constitutions and Statutes of the United States and the State of Colorado,
to the full extent that ccupliance with such laws is legally required of the
City of Pueblo.
This resolution shall be=m effective imediately upon passage.
