A RESOLUTION ENABLING ALL CITY DEPARTMENTS
TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CITY OF PUEBLO MUNICIPAL
GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS RECYCLING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, concern for the future quality of the earth's environment has lead
to global and national programs designed to encourage the recycling of materials
and products; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has authorized and endorsed the efforts of the
City of Pueblo Employee Recycling Committee to establish and promote recycling
programs within the confines of the Pueblo Municipal Government Operations; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that:
SECTION l
All Pueblo Municipal Government Departments shall have in place a recycling
program within their respective departments, enabling all employees to
participate.
SECTION 2
Employees authorized by each department head may be allowed to perform
necessary recycling duties on City time, provided that it does not interfere
with said employees regularly scheduled department job assignments, which can
include, but not be limited to, participation on the City of Pueblo's Recycling
Committee, transporting recyclable materials to the collection center in the
Fleet Maintenance compound, collection of recyclable materials within each
department, and maintaining the collection receptacles and the collection area
to preserve the neat and orderly appearance of the department.
SECTION 3
All monies received as the result of redeeming City Municipal Government
Operations recycleable materials shall be deposited in the Recycleable Materials
Account #01 -999 for 64 -4773 within the City Finance Department. The
Recyclable Materials Account Fund, upon final approval of the City Council,
shall be used for the purpose of promoting the City of Pueblo Municipal
Government Operations Recycling Program through the recommendations of the City
of Pueblo's Recycling Committee.
SECTION 4
This resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.
