HomeMy WebLinkAbout6676k I• agel 184 M r4l • A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, ADOPTING THE CITY'S OOMM[7NI'I'Y DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FINAL STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES FOR 1991 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUEiMIT THE FINAL STATEMENT AND OTHER NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION TO THE U.S. DEPARIM NT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT TO OBTAIN APPROXIlNATELY $1,223,000 IN FEDERAL CDBG FUNDS WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo, hereinafter called City, is designated as an entitlement city under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended through 1990; and WHEREAS, the City has held a public hearing on November 12, 1990, to obtain the views of citizens on the City's housing and comminity NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF N001:3 • • 0 . - 21. Section 1. The City Council hereby declares the City of Pueblo's Community Development Program has been developed so as to give maximum feasible priority to activities which will benefit low- and moderate- income families and /or aid in the prevention or elimination of slums and blight. Section 2. The City Council hereby adopts the attached Community Development Block Grant Final Statment of Objectives and Activities for 1991, which attachment is made a part of this Resolution. January 28, 1991 THE CITY OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, CONIlKUIM DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FINAL STATEMENT' OF OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES FOR 1991. The City Council of Pueblo, Colorado, will undertake the following objectives for use of CDBG funds in 1991. CDBG funds are intended to provide decent housing, suitable living environment and economic opportunities, principally for low and moderate income persons through rehabilitation and preservation, economic /job development and public facilities improvements. It is expected that approximately $1,223,000 in CDBG funds will be received by the City in 1991. It is the intent of the City to meet the principle objective of the program by funding programs that primarily meet the needs of low and moderate income persons. This will be accomplished by meeting the spending requirements of the CDBG program. Permanent involuntary displacement of neighborhood persons or businesses is not anticipated. Any low and moderate income housing which is demolished or converted will be replaced in compliance with the CDBG regulations. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to submit the Final Statement of Objectives and Activities for 1991, together with the other necessary documentation, including the required assurances, to the U.
