HomeMy WebLinkAbout6659RESOLUTION NO. 6659 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, ADOPTING THE CITY'S COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) DRAFT STATEvENT OF OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES FOR 1991. WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo, hereinafter called City, is designated as an entitlement city under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended through 1990; and WHEREAS, the Citizens' Advisory Committee on Community Development has received and reviewed applications for the use of 1991 CDBG funds, and said Committee has made its recommendations to the City Council on the projects to be approved; and WHEREAS, the City has held a public hearing on November 12, 1990, and in addition quadrant meetings at various locations to obtain the views of citizens and various groups on the City's housing and community development needs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: Section 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the publication of the City's Development Block Grant Statement of Objectives and Activities for 1991, which publication will afford affected citizens an opportunity to examine the statements' contents, and to provide comments on the proposed statement and on the City's proposed use of 1991 Community Development Block Grant funds. GILBERT GARBISO CITY COUNCIL MEMBER APPR OVED: � 6� OF • ATTEST CITY CLERK December 21, 1990 THE CITY OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) DRAFT STATEMENT OF OBTECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES FOR 1991. The City Council of Pueblo, Colorado, proposes the following objectives for use of CDBG funds in 1991. CDBG funds are intended to provide decent housing, suitable living environment and economic opportunities, principally for low and moderate income persons through rehabilitation and preservation, economic /job development and public facilities improvements. It is anticipated that approximately $1,200,000 in CDBG funds will be received by the City in 1991. It is the intent of the City to meet the principle objective of the program by funding programs that primarily meet the needs of low and moderate income persons. This will be accomplished by meeting the spending requirements of the CDBG program. Permanent involuntary displacement of neighborhood persons or businesses is not anticipated. Any low and moderate income housing which is demolished or converted will be replaced in compliance with the CDBG regulations.
