A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2026 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF PUEBLO INC. IN
THE AMOUNT OF $1,500 TO SPONSOR THE HOLIDAY
FASHION PREVIEW FROM 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM ON SATURDAY,
DECEMBER 5, 2026, AT PUEBLO CONVENTION CENTER
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1 _
Payment in the amount of $1,500 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2026
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Assistance League of Pueblo Inc. to sponsor
the Holiday Fashion Preview from 9:30 am - 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at the
Pueblo Convention Center.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of Assistance League of Pueblo Inc.
in the amount of $1,500 to sponsor the Holiday Fashion Preview from 9:30 am - 3:00
pm on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at Pueblo Convention Center.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this event from 2021 to 2023 for $1,000, in 2024 for $2,000, and in
2025 for $2,500.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Mark Aliff is requesting $1,500 to sponsor Assistance League of
Pueblo's Holiday Fashion Preview. The fundraiser will take place from 9:30 am - 3:00
pm on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at the Pueblo Convention Center.
The Holiday Fashion Preview is an annual festive fundraiser featuring a fashion show,
holiday boutique with local artisans, live music, and lunch. Funds raised are specifically
earmarked for Operation School Bell which assists needy elementary and middle
school children in the Pueblo area with new school clothes, hygiene kits and age -
appropriate books. Operation School Bell is held after school for one week every
September and underprivileged children are referred by school counselors to the
Assistance League.

Assistance League of Pueblo Inc. is a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to strengthen our
community and transform lives through Operation School Bell.
The estimated cost to hold the event this year is $74,643, and as of August 13, 2026,
they had received $10,450 in donations and sponsorships and sold 39 tickets at $85
each totaling $3,315. This sponsorship tier includes 8 tickets to the event.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $1,500 would be paid from the Council
Contingencies Account in the 2026 General Fund Budget to Assistance League of
Pueblo Inc.

Not applicable.

ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of Council President Mark Aliff.
