COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2026 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO PARKVIEW FOUNDATION IN THE
AMOUNT OF $2,000 TO SPONSOR THE 45TH ANNUAL
STARLIGHT GALA - GOLDEN LEGACY ON FRIDAY,
SEPTEMBER 25, 2026, FROM 5:30 TO 10:00 PM AT THE
PUEBLO CONVENTION CENTER
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $2,000 from th
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid
Annual Starlight Gala - Golden Legacy on Friday
at the Pueblo Convention Center.
SECTION 2.

The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of Parkview Foundation in the
amount of $2,000 to sponsor the 45th Annual Starlight Gala - Golden Legacy on Friday,
September 25, 2026, from 5:30 to 10:00 PM at the Pueblo Convention Center.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this event in 2025 for $1,500.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Brett Boston is requesting $2,000 to sponsor Parkview
Foundation's 45th Annual Starlight Gala - Golden Legacy. The event will take place on
Friday, September 25, 2026, from 5:30 to 10:00 PM at the Pueblo Convention Center.
This year's Golden Legacy Gala fundraiser will bring together community leaders,
partners, and foundation supporters to celebrate five decades of philanthropic impact
and the many ways donor generosity has transformed healthcare in Southern Colorado.
The evening will also honor the Pueblo Police Department and Pueblo County Sheriff's
Office for their dedication, service, and partnership in helping protect our community.
Guests will enjoy cocktails, dinner, entertainment, silent and live auctions, and inspiring
stories from donors, board members, hospital staff, and departments whose programs
and services have been enhanced through philanthropic support.

Parkview Foundation is a 501(c)(3) whose purpose is to connect donors with
opportunities to advance health care excellence, fund innovation, and provide support
for patients, families, and staff throughout Southern Colorado.
Proceeds from this year's event will be split evenly in thirds between Pueblo Police
Department, Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, and Parkview Foundation, which will fund
priority hospital initiatives that advance patient care, support healthcare professionals,
and strengthen services for our community.
As of August 13, 2026, they had received $57,000 in sponsorships and donations. The
cost to attend is $150 and this sponsorship tier includes a table for 10.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $2,000 would be paid from the Council
Contingencies Account in the 2026 General Fund Budget to Parkview Foundation.

ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Brett Boston.
