A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2026 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO THE ROSELAWN 1891 COMPANY IN THE
AMOUNT OF $1,700 TO SPONSOR WREATHS ACROSS
AMERICA ON DECEMBER 19, 2026, FROM 12:00-4:00PM, AT
ROSELAWN CEMETERY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1 _
Payment in the amount of $1,700 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2026
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to The Roselawn 1891 Company to sponsor the
Wreaths Across America on December 19, 2026, from 12:00 - 4:00PM, at Roselawn Cemetery.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of The Roselawn 1891 Company in
the amount of $1,700 to sponsor Wreaths Across America on December 19, 2026, from
12:00 - 4:00PM, at Roselawn Cemetery.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this ceremony in 2022 for $3,000 and in 2025 for $1,700.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Joe Latino is requesting $1,700 to sponsor The Roselawn 1891
Company's Wreaths Across America. The ceremony will take place on December 19,
2026, from 12:00-4:00 PM, at Roselawn Cemetery.
The Roselawn 1891 Company is a 501 (c)(3) whose goal is to contribute to the mission
of Wreaths Across America to always Remember and Honor our military veterans who
gave so much; many gave their all, and to continue teaching the next generation the
value of freedom, and to always remember our veterans.
The ceremony begins with a flyover narration by CAE followed by the presentation of
the colors and presentation of eight wreaths for each of the branches of the military and
one for POW/MIA soldiers. Speakers will talk about our mission to Remember, Honor
and Teach the next generation about the value of our freedom. Wreaths will be placed
by volunteers after the ceremony.

Their fundraising goal is to obtain as many sponsorships as possible in order to place a
wreath on the final resting place of all 4,000 military veterans laid to rest at Roselawn
Cemetery.
Sponsorship funds will be used to directly cover the cost to supply wreaths at $17 each.
As of June 17, 2026, they had received $7,282 in sponsorships & donations which
covers the cost of approximately 428 wreaths out of 4,000.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $1,700 would be paid from the Council
Contingencies Account in the 2026 General Fund Budget to The Roselawn 1891
Company.

Not applicable.

Not applicable.
ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Joe Latino.
