A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2026 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO NEIGHBORWORKS SOUTHERN
COLORADO IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 TO SPONSOR THE
CELEBRATION OF HOME LUNCHEON FUNDRAISER FROM
11:00 AM TO 2:00 PM ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 14, 2026, AT CSU
PUEBLO, OCCHIATO BALLROOM
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2026
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to NeighborWorks Southern Colorado to sponsor
the Celebration of Home Luncheon from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Friday, August 14, 2026, at
CSU Pueblo, Occhiato Ballroom.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of NeighborWorks Southern
Colorado in the amount of $1,000 to sponsor the Celebration of Home Luncheon
fundraiser from 11.00 AM to 2.00 PM on Friday, August 14, 2026, at CSU Pueblo,
Occhiato Ballroom.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this event in 2025 for $2,000.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Joe Latino is requesting $1,000 to sponsor NeighborWorks
Southern Colorado's Celebration of Home Luncheon. The fundraiser will take place
from 11.00 AM to 2.00 PM on Friday, August 14, 2026, at CSU Pueblo, Occhiato
Ballroom.
NeighborWorks Southern Colorado is a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to promote healthy,
vibrant Neighborhoods and serve as the first choice for homebuyer resources in
Southern Colorado. Our core belief is that building sustainable communities begins with
building stable homes.
Last year they helped 497 people achieve homeownership through their Homebuyer
Education program. They also provided financial education to 785 families through their
Financial Fitness classes. Their financial mitigation support helped 54 households avoid

foreclosure, and their down payment assistance program helped 24 first time
homebuyers close on a home. Their Home Improvement Lending program helped 18
homeowners make their home healthier and safer and 8 small businesses grew their
reach with support from their Small Business Lending program.
Tickets to the event are $100 and funds raised will be used to support their programs
and operating expenses. This sponsorship tier includes 4 tickets to the event.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $1,000 would be paid from the Council
Contingencies Account in the 2026 General Fund Budget to NeighborWorks Southern
Colorado.

Not applicable.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
Not applicable.
ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Joe Latino.
