A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2026 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO COLORADO STATE FAIR FIESTA
COMMITTEE IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,500 TO SPONSOR
NOCHE DE FIESTA AT 5:00 PM AT THE PUEBLO
CONVENTION CENTER ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 15, 2026
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,500 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2026
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Colorado State Fair Fiesta Committee to
sponsor Noche de Fiesta at 5:00 PM at the Pueblo Convention Center on Saturday, August 15,
2026.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of Colorado State Fair Fiesta
Committee in the amount of $2,500 to sponsor Noche de Fiesta at 5.00 PM at the
Pueblo Convention Center on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this event in 2023 for $300, in 2024 for $500, and in 2025 for $1,000.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Selena Ruiz -Gomez is requesting $2,500 to sponsor Colorado
State Fair Fiesta Committee's fundraiser Noche de Fiesta. The event will take place at
5.00 PM at the Pueblo Convention Center on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Colorado State Fair Fiesta Committee is a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to promote and
celebrate the Hispanic Culture within the state of Colorado, while providing educational
opportunities through scholarships for young Hispanic students.
Noche de Fiesta is their annual fundraising event, bringing the community together
through music, dancing, and celebration. Proceeds directly support scholarships for the
Colorado State Fair Fiesta Queen and Court, ensuring educational opportunities for
young Hispanic women across Colorado.
The estimated cost to hold the event this year is $12,490, the cost to attend is $40, and
as of June 16, 2026, they had received $2,200 in sponsorships. This sponsorship tier

includes a table for 10 at the event.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $2,500 would be paid from the Council
Contingencies Account in the 2026 General Fund Budget to Colorado State Fair Fiesta
Committee.

City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
