SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL
CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2026 GENERAL FUND BUDGET
TO PUEBLO SYMPHONY ASSOCIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,500
CONCERT AT 7:00 PM AT COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY PUEBLO
ON SATURDAY, JULY 4, 2026
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of Pueblo Symphony Association in
7:00 PM at Colorado State University Pueblo on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
for $5,000 in 2019, with both sponsorships paid to Memorial Hall for use of their
facilities. Council also supported the 2022 Pueblo Symphony Orchestra season for
$294.34.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Dianne Danti is requesting $2,500 to sponsor the Pueblo
concert will
take place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Colorado State University Pueblo.
The Pueblo Symphony Association is a 501(c)(3) whose purpose is to provide a quality
musical experiences for the people of Pueblo by recognizing that music is a vital feature
of the artistic, cultural, and educational life of a community.
Since 1994, The Pueblo Symphony Orchestra has proudly provided a free July 4th
community concert. They hope to orchestrate access to arts while strengthening
community pride and strive to foster human connection through live events, and make
the world a more musical place. Guest Artists for the multi-generational concert are
chosen to foster connection and inclusion through shared musical experiences.
Pueblo's Fabulous 4th Outdoor Concert is presented by the Pueblo Symphony as part
of a collaboration with Colorado State University Pueblo. The university presents a day
long family celebration that culminates in an evening concert by the symphony followed
by a drone show and fireworks display.
Sponsorship funds will be used to support event costs such as guest artists, orchestra
players, sound, lighting, and the jumbo viewing screen. This sponsorship tier includes 4
tickets in the reserved seating section.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $2,500 would be paid from the Council
Contingencies Account in the 2026 General Fund Budget to Pueblo Symphony
Association.

Not applicable.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
Not applicable.
ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Dianne Danti.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE

FABULOUS 4TH OUTDOOR CONCERT AT 7:00 PM AT
COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY PUEBLO ON SATURDAY,
JULY 4, 2026
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $2,500 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2026
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Pueblo Symphony Association to sponsor the
pm at Colorado State University Pueblo
on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.
