SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL
CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2026 GENERAL FUND BUDGET
TO NEIGHBORWORKS SOUTHERN COLORADO IN THE AMOUNT OF
$500 TO SPONSOR THEIR 6TH ANNUAL GOLF SCRAMBLE AT 8:00
AM AT ELMWOOD GOLF COURSE ON FRIDAY, MAY 8TH, 2026
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of NeighborWorks Southern Colorado
in the amount of $500 to sponsor their 6th Annual Golf Scramble from 8:00 AM at
Elmwood Golf Course on Friday, May 8th, 2026.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported their Celebration of Home in 2025 for $2,000.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Joe Latino is requesting $500 to sponsor NeighborWorks Southern
Colorado's 6th Annual Golf Scramble. The event will take place on Friday, May 8th, 2026,
at 8:00 AM at Elmwood Golf Course.
Last year, 497 people achieved homeownership through their Homebuyer Education
program, 785 families accessed financial education through their Financial Fitness
classes, 54 households were able to avoid foreclosure through their Foreclosure
Mitigation support, 24 first time homebuyers used their Downpayment Assistance
program to close on a home, 18 homeowners made their home healthier and safer by
using their Home Improvement Lending program, and 8 small businesses grew their
reach with support from their Small Business Lending program. This event is one of their
primary fundraisers used to support their programs.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

Payment of funds in the amount of $500 would be paid from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2026 General Fund Budget to NeighborWorks Southern Colorado.

City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
RECOMMENDATION:

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $500 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2026
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to NeighborWorks Southern Colorado to sponsor
their 6th Annual Golf Scramble at 8:00 AM at Elmwood Golf Course on Friday, May 8th, 2026.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with
the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.
