SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL
CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2026 GENERAL FUND BUDGET
TO BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF PUEBLO COUNTY IN THE AMOUNT OF
$1,500 TO SPONSOR THE 2026 CHAMPIONS OF YOUTH DINNER AND
AWARDS CEREMONY AT 5:30 PM AT PUEBLO CONVENTION
CENTER ON MARCH 12, 2026
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of Boys and Girls Clubs of Pueblo
County in the amount of $1,500 to sponsor the 2026 Champions of Youth Dinner and
Awards Ceremony at 5:30 PM at Pueblo Convention Center on March 12, 2026.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this event in 2025 for $2,000, in 2024 for $1,800, in 2023 for $1,600,
in 2022 for $1,350, and in 2021 for $1,200.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Members Dianne Danti and Ted Hernandez are requesting $1,500 to
sponsor Boys and Girls Clubs of Pueblo County 2026 2026 Champions of Youth Dinner
and Awards Ceremony. The 2026 Champions of Youth Dinner and Awards Ceremony
will take place on March 12, 2026, at 5:30 PM at the Pueblo Convention Center.
Since 1972, Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County have provided safe spaces and
unmatched youth development programs for kids and teens. The Champions of Youth
Dinner and Awards Ceremony is their biggest event of the year. Funds raised will go
towards their general operating funds in order to serve a projected 2,270 youth in 2026.
At this event they introduce the community to their work, recognize approximately 45 of
their leading youth including their Youth of the Year, and generate monetary support.
This sponsorship tier includes 6 tickets to the event.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $1,500 would be paid from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2026 General Fund Budget to Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County.

ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of Council Members Dianne Danti and Ted Hernandez.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2026 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF PUEBLO
COUNTY IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,500 TO SPONSOR THE 2026
CHAMPIONS OF YOUTH DINNER AND AWARDS CEREMONY
AT 5:30 PM AT PUEBLO CONVENTION CENTER ON MARCH 12,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,500 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2026
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County to sponsor
the 2026 Champions of Youth Dinner and Awards Ceremony at 5:30 PM at Pueblo Convention
Center on March 12, 2026.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with
the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.
