A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE

COLORADO IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 TO SPONSOR THE
ESPIRITU DINNER - MARDI GRAS MASQUERADE CASINO
ROYAL AT 5:30 PM AT PUEBLO CONVENTION CENTER ON
FEBRUARY 14, 2026
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2026
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Catholic Charities of Southern Colorado to
sponsor the Espiritu Dinner - Mardi Gras Masquerade Casino Royal at 5:30 PM at Pueblo
Convention Center on February 14, 2026.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with
the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SFCTION 3_
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

Attached for consideration is a request for support of Catholic Charities of Southern
Colorado in the amount of $1,000 to sponsor the Espiritu Dinner - Mardi Gras
Masquerade Casino Royal at 5.30 PM at Pueblo Convention Center on February 14,
2026.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this event in 2023 for $1,500.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Joe Latino is requesting $1,000 to sponsor Catholic Charities of
Southern Colorado Espiritu Dinner - Mardi Gras Masquerade Casino Royal. The event
will take place on February 14, 2026, at 5.30 PM at the Pueblo Convention Center.
Catholic Charities of Southern Colorado's mission is to provide compassionate services,
promote self-sufficiency, and strengthen our community through hope and dignity. The
2026 Espiritu Mardi Gras Masquerade Casino Royale event is an elegant evening of
celebration, entertainment, and community impact. Guests will enjoy a vibrant Mardi
Gras —Chemed experience featuring live entertainment, casino games, heavy hors
d'oeuvres, signature drinks, dancing, and dazzling masquerade flair. This sponsorship
tier includes 10 tickets to the event, and proceeds will be used to support Catholic
Charities' programs serving families and individuals across Southern Colorado.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $1,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2026 General Fund Budget to Catholic Charities of Southern Colorado.
