SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL
CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL FUND BUDGET
TO SOUTHERN COLORADO THEATRE COMPANY (DBA STEEL CITY
THEATER COMPANY) IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,000 TO SPONSOR
THEIR PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of Southern Colorado Theatre
Company (DBA Steel City Theater Company) in the amount of $2,000 to sponsor their
Performing Arts Academy.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Dennis Flores is requesting $2,000 to sponsor Steel City Theater
At the heart of
vision to life through the many programs they offer students at their Performing Arts
Academy. Their program serves 198 students, offering acting, music, and dance lessons,
primarily on Fridays to help support working parents while schools are closed.
The cost to participate is only $7.50 per week per class, and sponsorship funds will be
used to provide supplies, helping to keep the program affordable.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $2,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2025 General Fund Budget to Steel City Theater Company.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
Not applicable.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
Not applicable.
ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Dennis Flores.

RESOLUTION NO. 16212
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO SOUTHERN COLORADO THEATRE
COMPANY (DBA STEEL CITY THEATER COMPANY) IN THE
AMOUNT OF $2,000 TO SPONSOR THEIR PERFORMING ARTS
ACADEMY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $2,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2025
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Southern Colorado Theatre Company (DBA
Steel City Theater Company) to sponsor their Performing arts Academy.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with
the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.
