A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL
CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL FUND BUDGET
TO BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF PUEBLO COUNTY IN THE AMOUNT OF
DECEMBER 2025
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,400 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2025
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County to
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

$1,400 TO SPONSOR THE SANTA’S HELPER PROGRAM IN
DECEMBER 2025
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo
County in the amount of $1,400 to sponsor their Santa’s Helper Program taking place in
December 2025.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported the Boys and Girls Clubs’ Champions of Youth Dinners from 2018-
2025 for varied amounts between $1,000 and $2,000, but this is the first request for this
program.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Sarah Martinez is requesting $1,400 to sponsor Boys & Girls
Clubs of Pueblo County’s Santa’s Helper Program taking place in December 2025.
Sponsorship funds will be used to provide gifts/needs for seven high-needs members
this holiday season. Each year, the clubs recruit “Santa's Helpers” who meet the holiday
needs of approximately 200 of the youth they serve who would not otherwise have a
holiday gift. $200 allows the club to purchase some of the child/teen’s greatest needs,
such as coats, shoes, socks, and at least one wanted item. 89% of the nearly 1,900
children they serve live at or below the poverty line, and this program impacts those
who need it most.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $1,400 would be paid from the Council
Contingencies Account in the 2025 General Fund Budget to Boys & Girls Clubs of
Pueblo County.

ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
