A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE JOINT APPOINTMENT OF DOREEN
MARTINEZ TO THE PUEBLO CITY-COUNTY LIBRARY DISTRICT
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, the Selection Committee has convened and selected incumbent Doreen
Martinez to serve another five-year term on the Pueblo City-County Library District Board of
Trustees expiring on December 31, 2030; it is now the desire of the Pueblo City Council to ratify
said appointment; and
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
The joint appointment of Doreen Martinez to the Pueblo City-County Library District
Board of Trustees to serve a five-year term expiring December 31, 2030, shall be and hereby is
ratified.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with this Resolution to implement the appointment described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES
SUMMARY:
This resolution ratifies the joint City-County appointment of a member to serve on the
Pueblo City-County Library District Board of Trustees.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Joint City-County appointments to the Pueblo City-County Library District Board of
Trustees are made on an annual basis selecting individuals to serve expiring or vacant
terms. Resolutions to ratify the joint appointments are passed by each entity.
BACKGROUND:
There is an upcoming vacancy on the Pueblo City-County Library District Board of
Trustees due to a term expiring on December 31, 2025. Per the IGA: “The City and
County will appoint the Trustees of PCCLD through a committee comprised of up to two
members from the Board of County Commissioners and up to two members from City
Council,” and “The selection committee will fill vacancies to the PCCLD Board of
Trustees, subject to ratification by the City and County.” The Selection Committee met
on Friday, November 7, 2025, and reviewed the applications that were received during
the advertised application window.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This is a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation.

ALTERNATIVES:
City Council in agreement with the County Commissioners could remove the Resolution
from the Agenda, and reevaluation the applications or request that the recruitment
process be extended in order to receive additional applications for consideration.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
