A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO THE PUEBLO DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION
IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,500 TO SPONSOR THE 2025 PUEBLO
PARADE OF LIGHTS AT 5:30 PM STARTING IN MESA
JUNCTION AND ENDING IN DOWNTOWN PUEBLO ON
NOVEMBER 29, 2025
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,500 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2025
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Pueblo Downtown Association to sponsor the
2025 Pueblo Parade of Lights at 5:30 PM starting in Mesa Junction on Colorado Avenue &
Abriendo Ave and ending at 6th Street between Court & Grand on November 29, 2025.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with
the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of the Pueblo Downtown Association
in the amount of $1,500 to sponsor the 2025 Pueblo Parade of Lights at 5:30 PM starting
at Colorado Avenue & Abriendo and ending on 6th Street between Court & Grand on
November 29, 2025.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this event for $1,250 in 2023, for $1,000 in 2022, and for $1,250 in
2024.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Brett Boston is requesting $1,500 to sponsor the Pueblo Downtown
29, 2025, at 5:30 PM starting in Mesa Junction on Colorado Avenue & Abriendo and
ending at 6th Street between Court & Grand.
Christmas parades in Colorado. On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, festive, colorful and
clever floats, school marching bands, drill teams, decorated saddle club horses and car
club vehicles festooned with lights thrill many thousands of spectators as the parade
passes from the Mesa Junction down Union Avenue to Main Street then west to disband
at 6th and Court.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $1,500 would be paid from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2025 General Fund Budget to Pueblo Downtown Association.

City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.

This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Brett Boston.
