SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL
CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL FUND BUDGET
TO PUEBLO LATINO VETERANS ASSOCIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF
$1,500 TO SPONSOR THE 10TH ANNUAL PUEBLO LATINO
VETERANS LEGACIES OF COURAGE AWARDS CEREMONY AT 5:00
PM AT THE PUEBLO CONVENTION CENTER ON SATURDAY,
OCTOBER 4TH, 2025
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of Pueblo Latino Veterans Association
in the amount of $1,500 to sponsor the 10th Annual Pueblo Latino Veterans Legacies of
Courage Awards Ceremony at 5:00 PM at the Pueblo Convention Center on Saturday,
October 4th, 2025. Sponsorship funds will be used to cover costs to host the fundraiser,
and proceeds will go towards building a Latino Veterans Memorial. This sponsorship tier
includes 6 seats and a film page ad.

None.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Sarah Martinez is requesting $1,500 to sponsor Pueblo Latino
Veterans Association 10th Annual Pueblo Latino Veterans Legacies of Courage Awards
Ceremony. The event will take place on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at 5:00 PM at the
Pueblo Convention Center.
During Hispanic Heritage Month, the Pueblo Latino Veterans Committee recognizes
Pueblo Latino Veterans for their courage to country, community and other
veterans.
veterans serving our country and one posthumously in the Air Force. Other awardees
served in the Marines, Air Force, Army -term goal is to
build a Latino Veterans Memorial to record the names of all recipients of this award to
create a lasting memorial to their service. The Awards Ceremony is their only fundraiser,
and all proceeds will go towards building the memorial.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $1,500 would be paid from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2025 General Fund Budget to Pueblo Latino Veterans Association.

City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Sarah Martinez.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,500 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2025
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Pueblo Latino Veterans Association to sponsor
the 10th Annual Pueblo Latino Veterans Legacies of Courage Awards Ceremony at 5:00 PM at
the Pueblo Convention Center on Saturday, October 4th, 2025.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with
the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.
