COUNTY CAMPAIGN KICKOFF AT 11:30 AM AT THE PUEBLO
CONVENTION CENTER ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2025
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of United Way of Pueblo County in
the amount of $750 to sponsor their 103rd United Way Pueblo County Campaign Kickoff
at 11:30 AM at the Pueblo Convention Center on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this event in 2022 for $500.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Sarah Martinez is requesting $750 to sponsor United Way of
17, 2025, at 11:30 AM at the Pueblo Convention Center.
The Campaign Kickoff launches the annual fundraising drive. It brings together donors,
workplaces, sponsors, and volunteers to announce goals, share impact stories, and
energize the community to give, advocate, and volunteer for the year ahead.
Sponsorship funds will provide critical support to cover costs associated with hosting the
kickoff event, which is crucial in raising additional funds throughout the year.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
Payment of funds in the amount of $750 would be paid from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2025 General Fund Budget to United Way of Pueblo County, Colorado,
INC.

City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
RECOMMENDATION:

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO UNITED WAY OF PUEBLO COUNTY,
COLORADO, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $750 TO SPONSOR THE
103RD UNITED WAY PUEBLO COUNTY CAMPAIGN KICKOFF
AT 11:30 AM AT THE PUEBLO CONVENTION CENTER ON
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2025
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $750 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2025
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to United Way of Pueblo County to sponsor the
103rd United Way Pueblo County Campaign Kickoff at 11:30 AM at the Pueblo Convention Center
on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with
the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.
