SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF ISSUING A REQUEST FOR
QUALIFICATIONS TO SOLICIT RESPONSES FROM GROUPS OR
INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN PROVIDING ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CITY AND ITS
CITIZENS
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a Resolution in support of issuing a Request for
economic development activities for the benefit of the City and its citizens as it relates to
the Sales and Use Tax Capital Improvement Project Fund, Sec. 14-4-85.1- 85.9 P.M.C.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
The City of Pueblo entered into a non-exclusive Economic Development Contract on
January 1, 2008 with the Pueblo Economic Development Corporation. This contract has
automatically renewed for successive one-year terms through the date of this
background paper.
BACKGROUND:
This resolution stems from direction by City Council Member Regina Maestri to pursue
the aforementioned RFQ for economic development activities.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Financial implications may include costs associated with the issuing of the RFQ in the
event this resolution passes.

A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF ISSUING A REQUEST FOR
QUALIFICATIONS TO SOLICIT RESPONSES FROM GROUPS
OR INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN PROVIDING ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CITY
AND ITS CITIZENS
WHEREAS, City Council is vitally interested in the economic development and wellbeing
of the City and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, City Council desires to have economic development activities aggressively
pursued for the benefit of the City and its citizens, as it relates to the Sales and Use Tax Capital
Improvement Project Fund, Sec. 14-4-85.1-
WHEREAS, City Council requests City staff create and issue a Request for Qualifications
to solicit responses from groups or individuals interested in providing economic development
activities for the benefit of the City and its citizens; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
City Council requests the Mayor to direct staff, or in the alternative, authorizes the
President of City Council, to develop a Request for Qualifications to be issued for the purpose of
soliciting responses from groups or individuals interested in providing economic development
activities for the benefit of the City and its citizens.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized and directed to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described
herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage.
