A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF ISSUING A REQUEST FOR
QUALIFICATIONS TO SOLICIT RESPONSES FROM GROUPS
OR INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN PROVIDING MARKETING
ACTIVITIES FOR THE PROMOTION OF THE CITY IN RELATION
TO TOURISM, INVESTMENT, RELOCATION AND IMPROVED
SOCIAL CONVERSATION
and
WHEREAS, City Council desires to have marketing activities on behalf of the City be
aggressively pursued for the benefit of the City and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, City Council requests City staff create and issue a Request for Qualifications
to solicit responses from groups or individuals interested in providing marketing activities for the
promotion of the City in relation to tourism, investment, relocation, and improved social
conversation; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
City Council requests the Mayor to direct staff, or in the alternative, authorizes the
President of City Council, to develop a Request for Qualifications to be issued for the purpose of
soliciting responses from groups or individuals interested in providing marketing activities for the
promotion and benefit of the City and its citizens.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized and directed to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described
herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a Resolution in support of issuing a Request for
marketing activities for the promotion of the City in relation to tourism, investment,
relocation, and improved social conversation.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
The City of Pueblo has previously entered into agreements with nonprofits to decrease
the negative social conversation regarding the City and work with the City on marketing
initiatives to promote the City.
BACKGROUND:
This resolution stems from direction by City Council Member Regina Maestri to pursue
the aforementioned RFQ.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Financial implications may include costs associated with the issuing of the RFQ in the
event this resolution passes.
