SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL
CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL FUND BUDGET
TO GARCIA FOUNDATION, DBA GARCIA FUTURES PROJECT, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $750 TO SPONSOR THE PLACE AT 3:30 PM ON THE
1300 BLOCK OF EAST 7TH STREET ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16,
2025
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of Garcia Futures Project in the
amount of $750 to sponsor The PLACE at 3:30 PM on the 1300 Block of East 7th Street,
between Risley Middle School and Lucero Library, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
This sponsorship tier includes recognition from the MC, on banners, and on t-shirts
provided to visitors and volunteers.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this event in 2023 and 2024 for $1,000.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Sarah Martinez is requesting $750 to sponsor Garcia Futures
Project's event The PLACE. The event will take place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025,
at 3:30 PM on the 1300 Block of East 7th Street.
The PLACE is a community block party that brings over 65 organizations together,
featuring career opportunities and resources for families. Visitors will enjoy
complimentary food, drinks, and entertainment. Attendees will have access to resource
booths providing invaluable information to support Pueblo youth and their families. Some
of the booths featured will be Parks and Recreation, the Police Explorers, State Patrol,
Black Hills Energy, St. Mary Corwin, Parkview, Kaiser, Medicare, Educational
Institutions, and the U.S. Military.
Sponsorship funds will be used to cover operational costs such as permits, street closure
expenses, trash containers, restrooms, handwashing stations, security, liability
insurance, banners, entertainment, food & drink, and provision of Pueblo Proud shirts for
volunteers and visitors.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $750 would be paid from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2025 General Fund Budget to Garcia Foundation, DBA Garcia Futures
Project.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $750 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2025
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Garcia Foundation, DBA Garcia Futures Project,
to sponsor The PLACE at 3:30 PM on the 1300 Block of East 7th Street on Tuesday, September
16, 2025.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with
the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval
