SUBJECT: AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO, A COLORADO
MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND PUEBLO COUNTY, A POLITICAL
SUBDIVISION OF THE STATE OF COLORADO; ESTABLISHING
PROJECT ACCOUNT CI2516 - SKY CORRAL RUNWAY RELOCATION;
ACCEPTING FUNDS FROM PUEBLO COUNTY IN THE AMOUNT OF
$50,000.00 AND DEPOSITING SAID FUNDS IN CI2516;
TRANSFERRING $50,000.00 FROM THE CITY'S GENERAL FUND
FUND BALANCE INTO CI2516; AND BUDGETING AND
APPROPRIATING THE TOTAL BALANCE OF DEPOSITED FUNDS IN
THE AMOUNT OF $100,000.00 AS WELL AS ANY OTHER FUNDS,
PUBLIC OR PRIVATE, THAT MAY BE RECEIVED BY THE CITY IN THE
FUTURE IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $100,000.00 FOR THE
PURPOSE OF RELOCATING THE SKY CORRAL RUNWAY
SUMMARY:
This Ordinance establishes a new project account (CI2516 - Sky Corral Runway
Relocation) for the purpose of constructing a new model airplane runway facility;
approves an intergovernmental agreement between Pueblo County and the City of
Pueblo regarding the provision of funds for
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None.
BACKGROUND:
In conjunction with Pueblo County's construction of the new Medal of Honor Boulevard
project, the alignment and proximity of the existing runway for the Sky Corral model
airplane facility creates hazards for roadway users. In order to mitigate those hazards
and to protect the long-standing use of the area as a safe location for model airplane
operations, the City and County have negotiated an agreement to each contribute
$50,000 toward a project to relocate the runway further north of the existing location.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
$50,000 will be taken from the unappropriated fund balance of the General Fund and
budgeted and appropriated to Project CI2516. $50,000 will also be received from Pueblo
County and budgeted and appropriated to said project.

THE PURPOSE OF RELOCATING THE SKY CORRAL RUNWAY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Pueblo, a Colorado municipal
corporation, and Pueblo County, a political subdivision of the State of Colorado, a copy of which
is attached, and, having been reviewed by the City Attorney and approved as to form, is hereby
approved.
SECTION 2.
Project account CI2516 - Sky Corral Relocation Project is hereby established.
SECTION 3.
Funds received from Pueblo County in the amount of $50,000.00 are hereby accepted for
deposit into project account CI2516 - Sky Corral Relocation Project.
SECTION 4.
Funds in the amount of $50,000.00 are hereby transferred from the City's General Fund
fund balance for deposit into project account CI2516 - Sky Corral Relocation Project.
SECTION 5.
Funds deposited into project account CI2516 in the amount of $100,000.00 are hereby
budgeted and appropriated for the purpose of relocating the Sky Corral runway facility.
SECTION 6.
Any additional funds, public or private, that may be received by the City in the future for
the purpose of relocating the Sky Corral runway facility in an amount not to exceed $100,000.00
shall be accepted, budgeted and appropriated in project account CI2516 - Sky Corral Relocation
Project.
SECTION 7.
The officers of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this
Ordinance to implement the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 8.
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon the date of final action by the
Mayor and City Council.
