A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO VOICES AGAINST GUN VIOLENCE INC. IN
THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 TO SPONSOR THEIR PROGRAM
ASSISTING THE FAMILIES OF VICTIMS OF GUN VIOLENCE
WITH MEMORIAL-RELATED EXPENSES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2025
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Voices Against Gun Violence Inc to sponsor their
program assisting the families of victims of gun violence with service-related costs.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with
the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of Voices Against Gun Violence in the
amount of $1,000 to sponsor their program assisting families who have lost a loved one
to gun violence with the cost of burial, cremation, headstones, and other and other
memorial-related expenses.

None.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Sarah Martinez is requesting $1,000 to sponsor Voices Against
Gun
with the cost of burial, cremation, headstones, and other other memorial-related
expenses.
the
aftermath of gun violence during their darkest moments, providing support and
assistance when they need it most. They offer a compassionate hand to alleviate the
financial burden of funerals, caskets, headstones, cremation, and more. Voices Against
Gun Violence is a community dedicated to bringing comfort and relief to those affected
by senseless tragedies.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $1,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2025 General Fund Budget to Voices Against Gun Violence Inc.
