SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL
CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL FUND BUDGET
TO NEIGHBORWORKS SOUTHERN COLORADO IN THE AMOUNT OF
$2,000 TO SPONSOR THE CELEBRATION OF HOME ANNUAL
BALLROOM ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 15TH, 2025
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of NeighborWorks Southern
Colorado in the amount of $2,000 to sponsor the Celebration of Home annual
fundraising dinner at
15th, 2025. This sponsorship tier includes 6 tickets to the event and recognition on the
website, social media, print, and the onstage material.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Dennis Flores is requesting $2,000 to sponsor NeighborWorks
Southern Colorado Celebration of Home annual fundraising dinner. The fundraising
dinner will take place on Friday, August 15th, 2025,
Occhiato Ballroom.
NeighborWorks' mission is to promote healthy, vibrant neighborhoods and be the first
choice for home buyer resources in Southern Colorado. Funds raised at this dinner are
designated to support and sustain the essential programs that drive our mission of
fostering financial education, affordable housing development, lending and community
empowerment. They provided education for over 2,300 families last year, preserved
186 homes, created 514 new homeowners, provided over $2 million dollars in down-
payment assistance to low and moderate income families, served over 4,400
individuals through food initiatives, and provided $3.5 million in small business lending
to local businesses; investing over $166 million back into the community.
Cocktail hour will begin at 6pm, followed by dinner at 7pm. This year's theme is
"Garden Party", featuring HGTV's Matt Blashaw as the keynote speaker. They are
anticipating 300400 attendees including of many partners, community members, and
residents.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $2,000 would be paid from the Council
Contingencies Account in the 2025 General Fund Budget to NeighborWorks Southern
Colorado.

City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Dennis Flores.

COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL

COLORADO IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,000 TO SPONSOR THE

FRIDAY, AUGUST 15TH, 2025
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $2,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2025
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to NeighborWorks Southern Colorado to sponsor
the Celebration of Home annual fundraising dinner at 6:00 PM in CSU
Ballroom on Friday, August 15th, 2025.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.
