SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL
CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL FUND BUDGET
TO ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF PUEBLO IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,500
TO SPONSOR THE 36TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY FASHION PREVIEW AT
9:30 AM, AT THE PUEBLO CONVENTION CENTER ON SATURDAY,
DECEMBER 6TH, 2025
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of the Assistance League of Pueblo
in the amount of $2,500 to sponsor the Holiday Fashion Preview at 9:30 am, at the
Pueblo Convention Center on Saturday, December 6th, 2025. This sponsorship tier
includes 8 tickets, and recognition at the event, in the event program, on social media,
in printed advertisements, on their website, and a banner display in the foyer.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this event in 2024 for $2,000, and in 2021, 2022, and 2023 for
$1,000.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Regina Maestri is requesting $2,500 to sponsor Assistance
take place on Saturday,
December 6th, 2025, at 9:30 am at the Pueblo Convention Center.
The Holiday Fashion Preview is an annual fundraiser specifically earmarked for
Operation School Bell. This program assists needy elementary and middle school
children in the Pueblo area with new school clothes, hygiene kits and age-appropriate
books. Operation School Bell is held after school for one week every September and
underprivileged children are referred by school counselors to the Assistance League.
Over the last 52 years we they have supported nearly 43,000 children in the Pueblo
area. This year they plan to assist approximately 1,000 needy children.
The event includes a holiday boutique, musical entertainment, lunch, and a fashion
show by professional models.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $2,500 would be paid from the Council
Contingencies Account in the 2025 General Fund Budget to Assistance League of
Pueblo.

City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Regina Maestri.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $2,500 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2025
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Assistance League of Pueblo to sponsor the
2025 Holiday Fashion Preview at 9:30 am, at the Pueblo Convention Center on Saturday,
December 6th, 2025.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.
