HomeMy WebLinkAbout16066 City Clerk's Office Item # M6 Background Paper for Proposed Resolution COUNCIL MEETING DATE: July 28, 2025 TO: President Mark Aliff and Members of City Council CC: Mayor Heather Graham VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Charles Roy, Acting Director of Public Works SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A REVOCABLE PERMIT (REV-25-20) TO THE PUEBLO POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE USE OF THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY ALONG ALAN HAMEL AVENUE TO THE ALLEY BETWEEN SOUTH MAIN STREET AND SOUTH SANTA FE AVENUE FOR THE PURPOSE OF HOSTING THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY NIGHT 2025 SUMMARY: Attached is a draft Revocable Permit (REV-25-20) submitted by the Pueblo Police Department for the use of the public right-of-way along Alan Hamel Avenue to the alley between South Main Street and South Santa Fe Avenue on Saturday, August 2, 2025, between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: The Pueblo Police Department has submitted an application for a Revocable Permit (REV-25-20) for the use of the public right-of-way along Alan Hamel Avenue to the alley between South Main Street and South Santa Fe Avenue for the purpose of hosting their Neighborhood Safety Night on August 2, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: None. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: The Revocable Permit Review Committee recommends approval. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: Failure to approve the Resolution will prevent the applicant from exclusive use of the right-of-way. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution. ATTACHMENTS: 1. NOTARIZED REVOCABLE PERMIT - 25-20 RESOLUTION NO.16066 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A REVOCABLE PERMIT (REV-25-20) TO THE PUEBLO POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE USE OF THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY ALONG ALAN HAMEL AVENUE TO THE ALLEY BETWEEN SOUTH MAIN STREET AND SOUTH SANTA FE AVENUE FOR THE PURPOSE OF HOSTING THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY NIGHT 2025 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that SECTION 1. The attached Revocable Permit (REV-25-20) is authorized to be issued to the Pueblo Police Department for the use of the public right-of-way along Alan Hamel Avenue to the alley between South Main Street and South Santa Fe Avenue for the purpose of hosting their Neighborhood Safety Night 2025 on August 2, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. SECTION 2. The use of the public right-of-way granted hereby is subject to all limitations, terms, and conditions set forth in the attached Revocable Permit. SECTION 3. The officers of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to implement the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.
