SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL
CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL FUND BUDGET
TO ANIMAL WELFARE AND PROTECTION SOCIETY DBA - PAWS
FOR LIFE IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,500 TO SPONSOR PINTS FOR
PAWS FROM 5:00 - 9:00 PM AT THE PUEBLO UNION DEPOT ON
FRIDAY, JULY 25, 2025
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of PAWS for Life in the amount of
$1,500 to sponsor the 2025 Pints for PAWS from 5:00 - 9:00 PM at the Pueblo Union
Depot on Friday, July 25, 2025. This sponsorship tier includes 8 tickets to the event.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this organization in the past, but this is the first request for this
event.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Sarah
2025 Pints for PAWS. The event will take on Friday, July 25, 2025, 5:00 - 9:00 PM at
the Pueblo Union Depot.
PAWS for Life is a non-profit no-kill animal shelter whose mission is to help lost or
unwanted animals; to return lost ones to their owners whenever possible or after having
them spayed or neutered, place them in good homes; and to educate the public about
intelligent and humane treatment of animals.
Funds raised at Pints for PAWS will be used to shelter, feed, and provide medical care
to animals waiting to find their forever home. Event attendees will enjoy music, a beer
and wine tasting, appetizers, a photo booth, a caricature artist, and a silent auction.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $1,500 would be paid from the Council
Contingencies Account in the 2025 General Fund Budget to PAWS for Life.

City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.

This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Sarah Martinez.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,500 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2025
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to PAWS for Life to sponsor the 2025 Pints for
PAWS from 5:00 - 9:00 PM at the Pueblo Union Depot on Friday, July 25, 2025.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.
