PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: Mr. Hobson, the City's Acting Director of Planning and Community Development will be retiring in September following a career spanning more than 48 years of public service, including 26 years of service directly to the residents, businesses, and visitors of the City of Pueblo. In order to appropriately honor his remarkable career and the impacts he has made, staff is recommending that the trail around Lake Minnequa be named "Hobson Trail". This particular designation is uniquely appropriate in that Mr. Hobson was instrumental in the establishment and development of Lake Minnequa Park. Naming the trail at this particular location, which exists only because of his extraordinary efforts, is an appropriate way to honor his decades of service to the public. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: None. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable to this Resolution. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not applicable to this Resolution. ALTERNATIVES: Failure to pass this Resolution will preclude the naming RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution. ATTACHMENTS: None RESOLUTION NO16054.
