THE COMMUNITY APPRECIATION AWARDS FUNDRAISER

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $750 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2025
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to the Pueblo Firefighter Historical Society to
sponsor the 2025 Community Appreciation Awards from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM at the Pueblo
Firefighters Historical Center on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with
the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
A Resolution authorizing payment from the council contingencies account in the 2025
general fund budget to Pueblo Firefighter Historical Society Hose CO 3 in the amount of
$750 to sponsor the Community Appreciation Awards fundraiser from 11:30 AM - 1:00
PM at Pueblo FireFighters Historical Center on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council has supported this organization's firefighters Ball & Awards Dinner in the past,
but this is the first request for this event.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Sarah Martinez is requesting $750 to sponsor the Pueblo
will take on Thursday, June 26, 2025, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM at the Pueblo FireFighters
Historical Center.
The Pueblo FireFighters Historical Society was founded in 1995 by a group of Pueblo
firefighters. The Historical Society is still led by Pueblo Firefighters who volunteer to
maintain and preserve our history. They also manage the Hose Co. No. 3 Fire Museum
and continue to add artifacts and pictures of the Pueblo Fire Department and its
firefighters. They are currently raising funds to restore the historic Pueblo Firefighters
Hall and maintain their cherished collection of antique firetrucks - symbols of bravery,
service, and community pride.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $750 would be paid from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2025 General Fund Budget to Pueblo Firefighter Historical Society.

ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of Council Member Sarah Martinez.
