A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO B.I.T.S OF FREEDOM CORP DBA BITS OF
FREEDOM IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,000 TO SPONSOR THE
KENTUCKY DERBY PARTY FUNDRAISER ON MAY 3, 2025, AT
PUEBLO DIVERSIFIED INDUSTRIES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $2,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2025
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to B.I.T.S of Freedom Corp dba Bits of Freedom to
sponsor the Kentucky Derby Party Fundraiser on May 3, 2025, at Pueblo Diversified Industries.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with
the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of B.I.T.S of Freedom Corp dba Bits
of Freedom in the amount of $2,000 to sponsor the Kentucky Derby Party Fundraiser on
May 3, 2025, at Pueblo Diversified Industries.

BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Brett Boston is requesting $2,000 to sponsor the Kentucky Derby
Party Fundraiser on May 3, 2025, at Pueblo Diversified Industries. This event promises
not only a celebration of Southern charm and Derby-inspired festivities but also serves
as a crucial fundraiser to support equine-assisted therapy programs for children and
individuals with disabilities. Bits of Freedom has a mission to improve the quality of life
for individuals with special needs through the power of the horse. Bits of Freedom
believes in the transformative power of horses and their ability to help individuals
overcome challenges and reach their full potential. The Equine-assisted Therapeutic
Riding Program is designed to provide a unique and effective form of therapy that
combines the healing power of horses with the expertise of our dedicated team.
Bits of Freedom offers a safe and supportive environment where individuals of all ages
and abilities can engage in therapeutic riding activities. Equine-assisted therapy has
been proven to have numerous benefits, and our skilled instructors and therapists are
here to guide you through this incredible journey. As you interact with our gentle and
well-trained therapy horses, you'll experience a deep connection and bond that can be
truly transformative.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $2,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2025 General Fund Budget to B.I.T.S of Freedom Corp dba Bits of
Freedom.
