HomeMy WebLinkAbout10895 City Clerk's Office Item # R3 Background Paper for Proposed Ordinance COUNCIL MEETING DATE: February 10, 2025 TO: President Mark Aliff and Members of City Council CC: Mayor Heather Graham VIA: Marisa Stoller, City Clerk FROM: Scott Hobson, Acting Director Planning and Community Development SUBJECT: AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN AGREEMENT TO BUY AND SELL REAL ESTATE BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO, A COLORADO MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND PUEBLO URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY, A PUBLIC BODY CORPORATE AND POLITIC OF THE STATE OF COLORADO, RELATING TO THE SALE OF PROPERTY DESCRIBED AS LOT 14, BLOCK 46, EAST PUEBLO, SCHEDULE #431120007, 800 BLOCK E 3RD ST., PUEBLO CO 81001 FOR AN AMOUNT OF TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000.00), AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO DO THE SAME SUMMARY: Attached is an Ordinance approving, and authorizing the Mayor to sign, an agreement for the City to An unaddressed parcel of unimproved land located in the 800 Block of rd East 3, Pueblo, CO 81001 to Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority for two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Not Applicable. BACKGROUND: The unaddressed property at the 800 block of East 3rd Street was acquired by the City through the redemption of a tax lien. The Property is more specifically designated as: Parcel: 431120007 Legal Description: Lot 14, Block 46, East Pueblo, County of Pueblo, State of Colorado FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: The City will receive $2,000.00 from the sale. Closing costs and fees will be paid by the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority. The Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority will pay for title BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not Applicable. ALTERNATIVES: City Council may decide not to sell this property. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Ordinance. ATTACHMENTS: 1. Agreement to Sell Real Estate- Urban Renewal ORDINANCE NO. 10895 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN AGREEMENT TO BUY AND SELL REAL ESTATE BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO, A COLORADO MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND PUEBLO URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY, A PUBLIC BODY CORPORATE AND POLITIC OF THE STATE OF COLORADO, RELATING TO THE SALE OF PROPERTY DESCRIBED AS LOT 14, BLOCK 46, EAST PUEBLO, SCHEDULE #431120007, 800 BLOCK E 3RD ST., PUEBLO CO 81001 FOR AN AMOUNT OF TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000.00), AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO DO THE SAME BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. the City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority, a Public Body Corporate and Politic of the State of Colorado, a drafted copy of which is attached hereto and is incorporated herein by this reference, having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, is hereby approved. SECTION 2. The Mayor is authorized to execute and deliver the Agreement in the name of the City and the City Clerk is authorized to fix the seal of the City thereto and attest same. The Mayor is further authorized to execute and deliver the accompanying Special Warranty Deeds and related documents at closing, transferring the property owned by the City to Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority in the manner described in the Agreement. SECTION 3. Proceeds from the sale in the amount of $2,000.00 are to be deposited into General Fund. SECTION 4. The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with this Ordinance and the attached Agreement appropriate to implement the transactions described therein. SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City Council.
