A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO MARIPOSA CENTER FOR SAFETY IN THE
AMOUNT OF $800 TO SPONSOR THE ODE TO CHOCOLATE
INDULGENCE ON FRIDAY, MARCH 14 FROM 4 - 7 PM AT
MARIPOSA CENTER FOR SAFETY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $800 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2025
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Mariposa Center for Safety to sponsor the Ode
to Chocolate Indulgence on Friday, March 14 from 4 - 7 pm at Mariposa Center for Safety.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with
the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of Mariposa Center for Safety in the
amount of $800 to sponsor the Ode to Chocolate Indulgence on Friday, March 14 from
4 - 7 pm at Mariposa Center for Safety.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Council supported this event in 2008 with $1,500.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Sarah Martinez is requesting $800 to sponsor Ode to Chocolate
Indulgence on Friday, March 14 from 4 - 7 pm at Mariposa Center for Safety at the
'brownie' level. The Ode to Chocolate Indulgence brings back a smaller version of the
beloved Chocolate Indulgence. Enjoy a Happy Hour featuring a variety of drinks,
appetizers, and of course an assortment of chocolate treats! Vote on your favorite treats
and drinks, bid on chocolate items, and learn about the work we do to support those
experiencing domestic violence and our community. Your support of this event will give
you a chance to meet other community-minded people and those who support the
awareness and prevention of domestic violence.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $800 would be paid from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2025 General Fund Budget to Mariposa Center for Safety.

City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
