SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF DANNY NUNN
TO THE POSITION OF DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
SUMMARY:
The Mayor has appointed Danny Nunn to the position of Director of Finance and requests
confirmation of said appointment by the City Council. Such appointment is based on Mr.
Nunn's education, training, experience and fitness for the position.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None.
BACKGROUND:
Mr. Nunn brings over 10 years municipal government finance experience with much of
his experience acquired with the City of Pueblo. Mr. Nunn has worked for the City since
2018 and has served as a Tax Auditor, Accountant I, Payroll Supervisor/Accountant II,
Senior Tax Auditor, and has been serving as the Interim Director of Finance since August
2024. As outlined in his application and resume, through the multiple positions he has
held within the City government, he has garnered knowledge and leadership skills which
will provide a strong and dependable leader for the Finance Department. Following a
formal panel interview process with five eligible candidates, I believe that Mr. Nunn has
the experience and professionalism to lead our Finance Department and provide quality
direction to our elected officials.
Mr. Nunn served in the U.S. Army for five years and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree
in Accounting with a minor in Financial Planning.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The salary and benefits of the Director of Finance have been budgeted and appropriated
within the 2025 budget.
