SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE LEGISLATIVE PROCEDURES AND
RULES OF THE PUEBLO CITY COUNCIL BY CREATING A
PROCEDURE FOR RESCHEDULING CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS THAT
FALL ON A CITY HOLIDAY.
SUMMARY:
This Resolution approves an amendment to the Pueblo Municipal Code, Appendix A,
creating a procedure for automatically rescheduling City Council meetings that fall on a
City holiday.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Previously, yearly resolutions have been introduced to individually move each City
Council meeting to the Tuesday following a holiday.
BACKGROUND:
As City Council meetings are scheduled for the second and forth Monday of each month,
inevitably they fall on City holidays. As City Council meetings cannot be canceled, they
are regularly moved to the Tuesday following the holiday. This Resolution will allow this
rescheduling to occur automatically instead of necessitating staff to write a yearly
resolution to move each meeting individually.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
None; there will be some staff time savings.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
Not applicable to this Resolution.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
Not applicable to this Resolution.
ALTERNATIVES:
The City Council could not adopt this written policy and continue current procedures.
RECOMMENDATION:
Passage of the Resolution.
