HomeMy WebLinkAbout6214RESOLUTION NO. 6214 — A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING SUB- MISSION TO THE COLORADO STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT OF A HAZARDOUS MATERIAL ROUTE DESIGNATION PETITION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1. The Council finds and declares that through route transpora- tion of hazardous materials within the meaning of C.R.S. 43 -6 -301 and as defined in 49 C.F.R. 172.504 as well as bulk transportation of gasoline, diesel fuel and liquefied petroleum gas should, in order to promote the health and safety of the residents of Pueblo, be restricted within the corporate limits of the City of Pueblo to the following roadways none other: Interstate 25, U.S. Highway 50 West, Highway 47 and Highway 50 B (Bypass). SECTION 2. The Petition to the Colorado State Highway Department for Hazardous Material Route Designation prepared by the Pueblo Department of Transportation, a true copy of which is on file with the City Clerk, is hereby approved and its submission to the Colorado State Highway Department on behalf of the City is hereby authorized. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall not, in any matter, be construed to repeal, limit or otherwise affect the operation of Sections 3 -2 -29 and 3 -2 -30 of Chapter 2, Title III of the 1971 Code of Ordinances of the City of Pueblo, as amended, pertaining to local transportation and delivery of flammable liquids, it being the express intent of Council that said sections remain in full force and effect.
