A RESOLUTION MERGING TWO PACOG POSITIONS INTO
CLASSIFIED SERVICE OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Department of
Transportation personnel structure should be changed to absorb
two (2) PACOG positions, and the City has determined to bring two
current PACOG employees into the Civil Service system, and
WHEREAS, these PACOG employees are experienced and trained in
and performing the job duties of the newly created positions of
Planning Technician:Transit and Planning Technician:Transportation
and meet the qualifications outlined in the current Job
specifications, and
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the City to appoint
these employees who by experience and training have proven their
merit and fitness for appointment to - the Planning Technician
positions described herein;
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO,
that:
SECTION 1.
City Council does hereby declare its intent and desire that PACOG
employees be permitted and allowed to become employees of the City
in the positions of the City which are similar to those positions
occupied by them as employees of PACOG. Therefore, City Council
does hereby request and direct the Civil Service Commission to
establish eligible lists for the Planning Technician
positions by examination based solely upon education, training and
experience pursuant to Civil Service Rule 18(c)(5) and to give
qualified employees of PACOG first consideration for appointment to
the positions.
SECTION 2.
This resolution shall become effective February 1, 1988.
