A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2025 GENERAL
FUND BUDGET TO MT. CARMEL VETERANS SERVICE
CENTER IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,000 TO SPONSOR A TABLE
AT THE SALUTE TO HEROES EVENT ON THURSDAY,
JANUARY 9, 2025 AT 4 PM AT PCC
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $2,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2025
General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to the Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center to
sponsor the Salute to Heroes event on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 4 pm at PCC.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized to perform any and all acts consistent
with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, 2025 AT 4 PM AT PCC
SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a request for support of Mt. Carmel Veterans Service
Center in the amount of $2,000 to sponsor the Salute to Heroes event on Thursday,
January 9, 2025 at 4 pm at PCC.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
The Council supported this event in 2024 for $1,000 and in 2023 for $2,500.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Regina Maestri is requesting $2,000 to support the Salute to
Heroes event on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 4 pm at PCC. This fundraiser benefits
military, veterans, and their families in Southern Colorado.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Payment of funds in the amount of $2,000 would be paid from the Council
Contingencies Account in the 2025 General Fund Budget to Mt. Carmel Veterans
Service Center.

City Council could choose not to authorize funding for this purpose.
