HomeMy WebLinkAbout5143RESOLUTION NO. 5143 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT -IN -AID APPLICATION FOR PARK REHABILITATION IN THE CITY OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, TO THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE. WHEREAS, there is acknowledged a continuing need to rehabilitate the City's Parks and Recreational Facilities in an effort to meet the growing and changing recreational demands of its neighborhoods, as documented in the City's approved Recovery Action Program and Plan; and WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo has prepared a Grant -In -Aid Application for funding in the Fiscal Year 1983 funding cycle of the Urban Parks and Recreation Recovery Program, administered by the National Park Service of the U.S. Department of the Interior, in compliance with the Urban Parks and Recreation Recovery Act (Title X, National Parks and Recreation Act of 1978, Public Law 95 -625, 16 USC 2501 - 2514); and WHEREAS, this proposal involves the rehabilitation of eleven separate recreation facilities of identified need: Beckwood Park, Bruner Park, City Park, Elizabeth Street Parkway, Haaff School -Park, Irving Place Park, Mineral Palace Park, Minnequa Park, Mitchell Park, "South Park" School -Park, and Stauter Field Complex; and WHEREAS, the City certifies that it will comply with all National Park Service assurances and understandings as contained in requirements for the UPARR Grant Agreement; and WHEREAS, the City designates Lewis A. Quigley, Director of Parks and Recreation, as its project leader responsible for overall project implementation; and WHEREAS, the City certifies the availability of matching funds to support the implementation of this Grant -In -Aid Proposal. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: CPrTTnM 1 An application of grant -in -aid will be submitted to the National Park Service for the purpose of rehabilitating eleven recreational facility sites in the City of Pueblo.
