HomeMy WebLinkAbout5007RESOLUTION NO. 5007 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN APPLICATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR URBAN DEVELOPMENT ACTION GRANT FUNDING, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AND SUBMIT SAME AND TO ACCEPT FUNDING ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PUEBLO IF APPROVED, DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER AS THE CITY'S REPRESENTATIVE TO ACT IN CONNECTION WITH THE APPLICATION, AND COMMITTING THE CITY'S SHARE OF THE PROJECT FUNDING THEREUNDER BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: CFrTTnN 1 The Application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for Urban Development Action Grant funding, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference, including all the understandings and assurances contained therein, is hereby approved and the City Manager of the City of Pueblo be and he hereby is authorized to execute and submit said Application on behalf of the City. The City Manager is hereby designated as the City's representative to act in connection with the Application, to provide such additional information as may be required, and, if the Application is approved, to accept on behalf of the City said Urban Development Action Grant funding. SECTION 2. The City Council does hereby commit to appropriate as and for the City's share of the required funding for the public components of the convention center -hotel project, for which project an Application for Urban Development Action Grant funding has heretofore been approved, the following funds and revenues of the City subject however to the approval of said Application and funding thereunder: (a) 1.1 million dollars out of the City's general fund surplus - capital improvement fund, (b) .6 million dollars out of the City of Pueblo's Downtown General Improvement District funds, and (c) 1.2 million dollars out of the City's allocation of Community Development Funds, $400,000 from each of three entitlement periods, beginning in 1981.
