HomeMy WebLinkAbout89aRESOLUTION 89a WHEREAS Horace Pollard heretofore appointed by Resolution of the Council of Pueblo, as Judge of the Election to be held January 16, 1920 in Public Park Improvement District No. 1 has signified to the Council that he will be unable to perform the duties of such office because of absence from the City on that day NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OP PUEBLO: That W O Peterson, be and the same is hereby appointed as one of the Judges of Election, to be held at Mineral Palace Park January 16, 1920 within and for Public Park Improvement District No. 1. Introduced by M. Studzinski Jan 12, 1920 Commissioner. WHEREAS, There exists an urgent demand for the enlargement of Mineral Palace Park by adding thereto the following described property situate in the County of Pueblo, and State of Colorado, to -wit: The Northwest quarter of the Southwest quarter (NW 1/4 SW 1/4) of Section Thirty (30), Township Twenty (20) South, Range Sixty -four (64) West, less the street or road known as Sante Fe Avenue and less The Denver 8c Rio Grande Railroad Company and The Denver, Texas & Gulf Railway Company rights of way, and less a strip of land lying South of Eleventh Street if produced and East of Summit Street; and also Lots Seven, Eight, Nine and Ten and fractional Lot Six, in Block One; Lots Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen, Fourteen and Fifteen and fractional Lot Sixteen, in Block One; Lot One and Lots Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen and Fourteen and fractional Lot Fifteen, in Block Two; Lots One, Two, Three, and Four, in Block Three; Lots Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen, Fourteen and Fifteen, and fractional Lot Sixteen, in Block Three; Lots Eighteen, Nineteen and Twenty, in Block Three; Lots One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, and Seven, in Block Four; Lots Ten, Eleven and Twelve and fractional Lot Thirteen, in Block Four; Lots Fifteen, Sixteen, Seventeen, Eighteen, Nineteen and Twenty, in Block Four; all of Block Five; Lots One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen and Fourteen, in Block Six; Lots Nineteen, Twenty, Twenty -one, Twenty -two, Twenty- three, Twenty -four, Twenty -five, Twenty -six, Twenty- seven, and Twenty- eight, in Block Six; Lots One, Two. Three, Four, Five, Six, and Seven, in Block Seven; all in the Fountain Addition to the City of Pueblo, according to the recorded plat of said addition, AND WHEREAS, There likewise exists a demand for the enlargement of North Dundee Park by adding thereto the following described property in the City and County of Pueblo, and State of Colorado, to -wit: A certain tract of land in the City of Pueblo bounded as follows: On the South by the North line of Twenty -fifth Street; on the West by the East line of Elizabeth Street; on the North by the city limits and on the East by the East line of East Elizabeth Street if extended North to the city limits, there being included in said tract, the strip of land now owned by the At. T. & S. F. Railway Company, and all lots and fractions of lots located between and franctionis of lots between East Elizabeth Street and the said right of way, said lots all being located in Somerlid Heights and North Dundee Place. AND WHEREAS, In the opinion of the Council of the City of Pueblo, it is necessary to improve the said Mineral Palace Park and North Dundee Park by enlarging them as aforesaid so that they may be made more readily accessible to the people living in Public Park Improvement District No. 1 and of greater benefit to the property situate therein, AND WHEREAS, Said improvements will benefit all lands in Public Park Improvement District No. 1 which includes all that part of the City of Pueblo lying North of the Arkansas River and West of the Fountain River NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That it is necessary to improve and enlarge said parks by adding to them the lands above described, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That a special election of such property owners residing within Public Park Improvement District No. 1 as are legal voters and have paid a realty tax within one year of the day of such election be and hereby is called for the purpose of voting upon the question of creating a bonded indebtedness in and for said District wherewith to make said improvements, at the greenhouse of the Mineral Palace Park on the Twenty -ninth (29th) day of December, A. D. 1919; whereat the polls shall open at 10:00 A. M. and remain open until 2:30 P.M. when they shall be closed and the vote canvassed and counted by Robert ,S, Gast, G.L.L. Gann and Horace Pollard, property owners residing in said District who are hereby appointed as judges of said election. Introduced By F. E. Olin December 8, 1919 NOTICE OF CALL FOP SPECIAL ELECTION. WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Pueblo has heretofore determined that it is necessary to improve Mineral Palace Park and North Dundee Park by purchasing and adding to them the lands hereinafter described, therefore BE IT RESOLVED That a special election of such property owners residing within Public Park Improvement District No. 1 as are legal voters and have paid a realty tax within one year of tire day of such election, be and hereby is called to be held at the Greenhouse in Mineral Palace Park on Monday, December 29, 1919 whereat the polls will open at 10:30 o'clock A. M. and remain open until 2:30 o'clock P. M. of that day, the purpose of which election is to vote upon the question of creating a bonded indebtedness in and for said district wherewith to improve Mineral Palace Park and North Dundee Park by purchasing and adding thereto the following described property situate in the County of Pueblo: Proposed addition to Mineral Palace Park Lots Seven, Eight, Nine and Ten and fractional Lot Six, In Block One; Lots Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen, Fourteen and fifteen and fractional Lot Sixteen, in Block One; Lot One and Lots Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen, and Fourteen and fractional Lot Fifteen in Block Two; Lots One, Two Three, and Four in Block Three; Lots Seven, Eight, Nine, %n, Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen, Fourteen, and Fifteen, and fractional Lot Sixteen, in Block Three; Lots Eighteen, Nineteen and Twenty, in Block Three; Lots One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, and Seven, in Block Four; Lots Ten, Eleven and Twelve and fractional Lot Thirteen, in Block Four; Lots Fifteen, Sixteen, Seventeen, Eighteen, Nineteen, and Twenty, in Block Four; all of Block Five; Lots One, Two Three, Four. AND BF IT FURTHER RESOLVED That notice of such election be forthwith given by publication of this call once each day for fifteen successive days in The Pueblo Star Journal and Further that notice be and hereby is given that at the opening of the said meeting such of said property owners as may then be present shall first by a resolution declare what, if any, amount of bonded indebtedness of said district should be created for the purpose of making said improvement and a majority vote of such property owners present and voting shall be sufficient for the adoption of said resolution.
