HomeMy WebLinkAbout82aRESOLUTION NO. 82a BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF PUEBLO: The City Clerk of the City of Pueblo is hereby directed to prepare a notice of bond election, to be held in the Water District of the City of Pueblo lying North of the Arkansas River, in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 1039. Said notice shall be published daily in the Pueblo Star - Journal for a period of not lease than ten days prior to said election, and shall be in form as follows, to -wit: PUBLIC NOTICE OF REFUNDING BOND ELECTION IN THE WATER WORKS DISTRICT OF THE CITY CLERK OF PUEBLO LYING NORTH OF THE ARKANSAS RIVER. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution and Laws of the State of Colorado and the Charter of the City of Pueblo, that at the General City Election to be held on November 4, 1919, there will be submitted to a vote of the qualified tax paying electors of the Water Works District of the City of Pueblo lying North of the Arkansas River, within the City of Pueblo, the question as to whether or not there shall be issued refunding bonds for the purpose of refunding the bonded indebtedness in said district in the amount of One Hundred and Thirty Thousand ($130,000.00) Dollars, according to the terms of Ordinance No. 1039 of the City of Pueblo. Said bonds, if authorized by the vote of the qualified tax paying electors with in said district, shall be in the amount of One Hundred and Thirty thousand ($130,000.00) dollars, and shall bear interest at the rate of 4 -1/2 per cent per annum; shall be payable within fifteen years after date; shall be in denominations of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars each, and shall be sold for not less than one hundred per cent of the par value thereof. Said election upon the question of issuing such refunding bonds shall be by separate ballot, on which ballot shall be printed the words, "For Refunding the bonded indebtedness of the Water District of the City of Pueblo lying North of the Arkansas River and issuing refunding bonds in payment thereof to the amount of One Hundred and Thirty Thousand ($130,000.00) Dollars, with interest at the rate of 4 -1/2 per cent per annum and to run for a period of not exceeding fifteen years, and to be sold at not less than one hundred per cent of the par value ", and "Against Refunding the bonded indebtedness of the Water District of the City of Pueblo lying North of the Arkansas River, and of issuing and refunding bonds in payment thereof in the amount of One Hundred and Thirty Thousand ($130,000.00) Dollars with interest at the rate of 4 -1/2 per cent per annum, and to run for a period of not exceeding fifteen years, and to be sold at not less than one hundred per cent of the per value ", with a space opposite each in which the voter shall make a cross (X) mark to express his choice. The form of said bonds shall be prescribed by ordinance of the Council of the City of Pueblo. The election for voting upon the issuance of said bonds shall be held in the several City election precincts of that part of the City of Pueblo lying North of the Arkansas River, at the same time and places as the General City Election for the election of City officers, to be held on said day, and polls shall be open for voting on said question from seven o'clock A.M. to seven o'clock P.M. and the several polling places in the City of Pueblo at which said election will be held are as follows: Precinct 1 — C.C. Carlile, 2515 Fourth Ave. Precinct 2 — Greenhouse, Mineral Palace Park. Precinct 3 — Court House (entrance to basement) Court Street Precinct 4 — Elmer Needham, 824 West Twelfth Ft. Precinct 5 — J.O. Holders, 1601 West Eighteenth St. Precinct 6 — Mrs. Guy Elliott, 601 West Eighteenth St. Precinct 7 — CoCo — Cola Bottling Co., 700 Grand Ave. Precinct 8 — Water Works Office, 319 West Fourth St. Precinct 9 — Hotel Vail Sample Room, 207 South Grand Ave. Precinct 10 — Hose House No. 1, 104 -106 East Seventh St. Precinct 11 — T.H. Serrin, 513 North Santa Fe Ave. Precinct 12 — Mrs. Walter Krall, 312 Bradford St. Precinct 13 — Theo.
