MCHARG, 2ND VICE-PRESIDENT P_tM DLO,COLO . July 16, 19190 To The Honorable Cor=issioners, of The City of Pueblo, Pueblo, Colo. Gentlemen: C. G. SEELYE, ;Ow P. A. GRAY RAL SECRETARY AND NER OF TRANSPORTATION CARLILE, AUDITOR At a regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Pueblo Commerce Club held on Tuesday afternoon July 8th, 1919, the Pueblo Mountain Park Committee made a verbal report on the feasibility and the 'advisability of Pueblo purchasing a two hundred acre tract of land at the entrance to Beulah Valley. This land is said to be the property of 411r. Fred Bullen, and is offered by him to the city of Pueblo for X25.00 per acre; $5000.00 for the entire tract. In substantiating that report we desire to inform your honorable body that the Commerce Club Directorate Board unanimously endorsed the purchase of this property by the City of Pueblo. Your Committee calls special attention to the fact that this is our last opportunity to purchase adjacent mountain tract property at so low a figure; that it is part of the progress and movement of the times for Colorado cities to provide mountain parks for their peoples play- grounds and that the Pueblo public in general, who are conversant with the proposed public improvement are all in accord with this desirable addition to the City beautiful. Aside from a public health and recreation point of view the business end of this purchase cannot be over estimated. The adver- tising and commercial benefit to accrue to our city will be ines- timable. Ciith these points alone under consideration your Pueblo mountain Pare Committee recom2 to the Commerce Club that this purchase be made and the Commerce Club in turn unanimously endorsed the recommendation. Respectfully yours, ATTEST - q , 9'1 Pres.Pueblo Com Club. e TO THE PUEBLO CO1: 11ERCE CLUB, PUEBLO, COLORiIDO OR ITS ASSIGNS. July 14, 1919.
