HomeMy WebLinkAbout08191ORDINANCE NO. 8191 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6 -5 -16 OF CHAPTER 5, OF TITLE VI OF THE PUEBLO MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLAN (2010) FOR THE LAW DEPARTMENT, REMOVING THE POSITION OF LEGAL SECRETARY FROM THE DEPARTMENT BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: (brackets indicate matter being deleted, underscore indicates matter being added) SECTION 1 The following line item within Section 6 -5 -16 of Chapter 5, of Title VI of the Pueblo Municipal Code as amended, being the Classification and Pay Plan (2010), is amended to read as follows: ARTICLE II CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLANS Sec. 6 -5 -16 Schedule; classification, work week, and monthly salary. The Classification and Pay Plan (2010) needs to reflect the removal of the pay rates and scale of the Legal Secretary in the Law Department. RECOMMENDATION Approval of the ordinance. BACKGROUND Section 8 -8 of the City Charter titled Pay Schedule requires that the Personnel (Human Resource) Director provide a Uniform Schedule of Pay for the Classified Service, which shall be approved by the City Manager and submitted to City Council. The Pay Schedule requires amendment to remove the Legal Secretary pay rates and scale. The position of Legal Secretary will be replaced by a Clerk Typist which is currently established in Section 6 -5 -16 of Chapter 5, of Title VI of the Pueblo Municipal Code. FINANCIAL IMPACT None
