AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2010
STAFFING ORDINANCE REVISING POSITIONS WITHIN THE
DEPARTMENTS OF CIVIL SERVICE AND LAW
WHEREAS, it is necessary to revise the positions for the ultimate efficiency and
functionality for the Civil Service and Law Departments
Now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: (brackets indicate
matter being deleted, underscore indicates matter being added)
SECTION 1.
The following sections captioned "Civil Service" and "Law" of Ordinance No. 8126,
being the 2010 Staffing Ordinance, is amended as follows:

TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2010 STAFFING ORDINANCE
REVISING POSITIONS WITHIN THE DEPARTMENTS OF CIVIL SERVICE AND LAW
ISSUE
Should City Council pass and approve the proposed Ordinance? The Staffing Ordinance
provides for the allocation of positions by various departments for the Fiscal Year.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of the ordinance.
BACKGROUND
The original staffing for the Civil Service Department contained a Senior Clerk Typist. With
the reorganization that has taken place in the department, the duties that need to be
fulfilled are at the level of Clerk Typist. The original staffing in the Law Department
contained a Legal Secretary. However, administration believes that the position can be
fully supported by a Clerk Typist.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
These modifications will result in salary savings of approximately $8700 annually.
