TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2010 STAFFING ORDINANCE
INVOLVING THE LAW DEPARTMENT
ISSUE
Should City Council approve the proposed Ordinance eliminating the position of Deputy
City Attorney and adding another Assistant City Attorney position?
Approve the ordinance.
BACKGROUND
Currently, Mr. Florczak is serving as Interim City Attorney, but holds the position of
Deputy City Attorney, resulting in a vacancy in the Law Department. With the
appointment of Mr. Florczak to City Attorney, his former position may be eliminated and
replaced by an Assistant City Attorney at a lower salary. The anticipated annual cost
savings with this change would range from $31,500 to $50,000.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
