ORDINANCE NO. 8126
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CITY OF PUEBLO DEPARTMENTAL
AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL POSITIONS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2010
WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that the following staffing plan for the City
Departments best meets the needs of the City, and
WHEREAS, the City Financial Plan (Budget) provides for the funding for the positions as
included in the staffing plan,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that the following positions
shall be authorized for fiscal year 2010:

TITLE
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CITY OF PUEBLO DEPARTMENTAL
AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL POSITIONS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2010
ISSUE
This Ordinance provides for the allocation of positions by department for the Budget
Year of 2010.
The City Manager and the Human Resources Director recommend that this Ordinance
be approved.
BACKGROUND
Authorized departmental staffing for 2010 includes an increase by two grant- funded
positions in the Police Department, and an additional three positions in the Law
Department (e.g. a City Attorney, an Assistant City Attorney and a Legal Secretary) with
a reduction of an Associate Engineer and Buyer in Public Works and Purchasing. Not
counting the 2 grant- funded positions in the Police Department, these staffing
modifications result in an overall increase of 1 position above the staffing levels
approved in the 2009 budget. However, many of these positions will not be filled in
2010
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The positions authorized to be filled have been funded in the 2010 budget.
